Jim Herperger is a British Columbia native. He took his first degree in Political Science and History at the University of British Columbia in 1974. He taught school before entering Law School at the University of Victoria in 1982.

Jim has practiced in Kelowna, B.C. since 1987, principally in the Wills, Estates, Trusts and Charities areas with the firm of Berge and Company now known as FH & P Lawyers.

Jim has written and taught for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia and is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, an international body of lawyers and estate practitioners.

Jim has presented seminars to the bank and life insurance community as well as to chartered accountants and others in the community on Estate Planning.

He is a member of the Kelowna Estate Planning Group.

Jim has taken an active role in his profession over the years, serving as President of the Okanagan Real Estate and Commercial Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association, 9 years as the Yale County representative to the Canadian Bar Association (B.C. Branch), and served 1 year as a member of the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association (B.C. Branch).

Jim has served for a number of years as a non-Bencher member of the Unauthorized Practice Committee of the Law Society of British Columbia, as well as a non-Bencher member of the Notaries Issues Committee of the Law Society of British Columbia.
